Roaches of all species are found on six of the seven continents of the world. They are essentially the world’s best scavengers. Any morsel of organic matter is what these annoying little pests feed on. The tiniest crumbs, dead and decaying insects, and even dead skin particles can find their way into a roach’s diet.
This is why it is important to know how to fend off the creatures and keep them at bay. Because after all, this is essentially what you are doing. Getting rid of roaches isn’t a one time thing. It is important to stay vigilant if you want to keep these dirty little insects out of your abode.
We asked Paul, who work pest control in Melbourne, Florida about the best ways to get rid of roaches and keep them out. Here is what he said: “First, I would say clean up after yourself very well. Sweep or hoover daily. Do the dishes nightly. If you still notice a problem it may be time to look at baits and traps. And of course, if these efforts don’t work then call your local pest control company. They should be able to handle your issue with little problem.”
It is also recommended by experts that you make sure screen doors and windows and in good working order. Make sure cracks in the walls and barriers are patched. Keep trash cans away from the home if at all possible. They are essentially a neon sign telling roaches where they can find food.
Having a run-in with a roach can be a very unsettling experience. Getting to the bottom of why and how they are getting into your home is the first step in solving the issue. Once you understand how they think and behave you can attack your roach problem and keep them from your family.
